A good friend of mine asked if I could make a small “Prayer Request” box. He wanted to hang out in the shop with me as I worked on the project. Well for an extrovert a friend is the shop is a good time.
So we started. I had some left over cypress that looked good. Box needed to hold 3×5 cards and some pens. Needed a slot in the top to submit the cards once completed.
We worked out a design. I used my box joint jig for the joinery. Most of the work was machine work with final fitting and smoothing done by hand planes.
